Orlando’s Annual Play-In-A-Day Returns — Challenging Artists to Create Theatre in Just 24 Hours!

Oviedo, FL – 9/20/25 – A burst of creativity, collaboration, and adrenaline is coming to Imagine Performing Arts Center as local artists take on the ultimate theatrical challenge in Play-In-A-Day (PIAD) — a high-energy event where teams will write, rehearse, and perform original short plays in just 24 hours.

For over two decades, PIAD was led by Producing Artistic Director Beth Marshall, and now continues under the direction of Clark Levi, a 10-year veteran of the event. Over the years, this nomadic tradition has benefitted and moved through a wide variety of venues including: SAK Comedy Lab, Orlando Fringe, Central Florida Theatre Alliance, Orlando Shakes, Lake Howell Theatre Company, Penguin Point Productions, and more — including a virtual pivot during the COVID-19 pandemic.
